The MS SLP is a rigorous full-time graduate program in which academic coursework is infused with clinical experiences.  每年夏天都会有一批新学生入学.  Students can expect to finish the standard MS SLP 23 months after program start.

The SLHS Department is committed to recruitment processes that are inclusive of diverse students as well as admission principles that account for the diversity of applicants’ education and experiential background.  Admission criteria are designed to capture the applicants’ strengths and compatibility with the MS SLP’s core values: community, 可访问性, 多样性和尊重.

Foundational subject-matter knowledge is demonstrated by a GPA greater than or equal to 3.在SLHS的必修课程中达到0分.  An undergraduate major in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences (or similar) is not required. 然而, students who possess a bachelor’s degree in another field must submit an official transcript that shows completion of the following prerequisite coursework with a grade of C or higher:

Students who possess a bachelor’s degree in another field and do not have these prerequisites are encouraged to explore the Department’s Leveling Certificate in Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences. Completing coursework as a non-degree or certificate-seeking student does not guarantee admission into the MS SLP program.

The following college-level coursework must be completed before starting the MS SLP program in ad在这里nce to the Standards of the Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.

Information on essential functions is designed to encourage students to self reflect and advocate for their needs in order to succeed in the MS SLP program.  Prospective students are encouraged to reach out to the Program Director with any concerns they might have regarding these essential functions.

2. Evidence of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university with a minimum 3.0累积绩点.
3. Evidence of a cumulative GPA in prerequisite SLHS coursework greater than or equal to 3.0.
4. 三封推荐信.  At least one recommendation should be from someone who can speak to your professionalism/skills outside of a traditional classroom setting.
5. Answer all required questions in the CSDCAS application, including seven short-answer questions.  For short-answer questions, write in complete sentences and use appropriate grammar.  Answers should be between 250-400 words and will be scored on clarity of writing, 答案的相关性和完整性, 还有内容的质量.

International applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English by obtaining a baccalaureate degree from a university in which English is the primary 语言 of instruction and is required for all evaluations (written and oral), 或通过托福考试, 每个部分的最低分数为20分, 总成绩不低于90分.

招生过程

The MS SLP 招生 Committee will only review complete applications.  申请截止日期为1月15日.  Application and all required documents must be submitted to AND verified in CSDCAS prior to the January 15 deadline in order to be considered for the program.  提交不完整申请的申请人 will not be reviewed by the 招生 Committee.  After the MS SLP Admission Committee receives and reviews the applications, 申请人将获书面通知其申请情况.  预计将在3月初做出录取决定.  申请可能是:被接受、被列入候补名单或被拒绝.  在某些情况下, the 招生 Committee may require a writing sample or interview before an acceptance decision can be made.

接受 students must confirm their acceptance at the time of admissions with the MS SLP program.  The process by which to confirm enrollment will be articulated in the admission decision notification.
